Why I chose to empower students
My journey to becoming a school counselor is rooted in a deep desire to encourage students, serve as a mentor, and positively shape their lives. I am committed to supporting the academic, SEL, and career development of every student. I believe in creating a safe environment where students feel seen, heard and valued. I advocate for equitable opportunities by partnering with teachers and families and using data-informed practices to support student success. Whether working individually, in groups, or schoolwide, I work to remove barriers and helping students build the skills they need to grow. I am forever committed to ongoing development, ethical practice, and relationships that foster resilience and lifelong learning.
Connecting through genuine understanding
I connect with students by genuinely relating to them and striving to understand their diverse backgrounds. Trust and an open mind are a top priority in my interactions. My approach stands out because it's built on genuine experiences. I relate to students in ways many counselors might not. This authentic connection allows me to develop closer, more impactful relationships with both students and their families, fostering an environment where everyone feels understood and valued.
